Therapy
As your therapist my job is to support you in exploring your difficulties and developing an insight about them, from which you can begin to make sense of and address your problems. Research indicates that one of the most important factors which determines if therapy can be effective for the client, is the quality of the therapeutic relationship and as your therapist, I aim to build a relationship with you within which you feel safe, free of judgment and within which you feel seen and valued. From there, we can begin to explore and work on your difficulties at your own pace.
While therapy can be daunting and challenging, voicing your inner thoughts and feelings within a safe space, reflecting and analysing them with my support can allow you to recognise patterns in yourself and in your relationships which you may want to address. Developing an insight into your self is the first step in being able to explore alternative ways of being which could work better for you. People often develop habits, responses and ways of being, as a result of the environments they have existed within and the life experiences they have had. At some point in life, a person may recognise that their existing ways of managing themselves are no longer serving them very well, but they may not know how to go about addressing this. Therapy is a process which can help you to understand yourself better and explore alternative ways of being, that work better for you.
Some clients arrive with a clear idea of what they want to work on or address in therapy and others don’t. My job would be to support and guide you through the process, recognizing recurring patterns in your life which you may want to address. I work with adults experiencing all kinds of mental health problems such as stress, anxiety, depression, panic, phobias, OCD, trauma, relationship difficulties and many more. I also specialise in working with sex, sexuality, gender and LGBTQ+ related difficulties.
Therapy session (50-minutes): €100 / £100
I do not charge for the first session, allowing us to meet and see if we can be a good fit to work together. In some circumstances, session prices are negotiable for those on lower incomes or in financial difficulty. Discounted rates are available for psychology trainees.
